Tolerances
Final part tolerances are dependant on many factors, including the construction of the waterjet machine and the waterjet cutting process itself. Yellowhead Waterjet use WARDJet waterjet cutting systems which are laser mapped, calibrated and ball-barred. This ensures Yellowhead Waterjet can supply excellent quality parts with confidence.
Taper and Edge Finish
Feed rate controls the amount of jet lag. Edge quality and cutting speed are directly related. Reducing cutting speeds can result in a good edge finish. Whatever taper or edge finish our customers desire we can deliver.
Nesting and Common Line Cutting
The goal in every waterjet shop is to maximize machine production capacity and to minimise material usage and wastage.
When there is a large volume order that requires programming and nesting, our software has the ability to automatically batch and process directly from our CAD system.
Common line cutting is used for high production multiple parts. When one part is cut, a portion of the second part is also cut, so essentially one cut can make two parts. The huge advantage is time that is saved. The disadvantage is that we lose a lot of the precision of the cut and it also takes longer to program.
Mutiple Cutting Heads
Yellowhead Waterjet only runs two head machines so it saves our customers time and money. Cutting with multiple heads is huge for efficiency. We use a 100 horsepower pump so each head has a full 50 horsepower available.
